We just got back from the 4H fair, and my 5 month old Orpingtons and Australorps are nowhere big as the hens there, but they just started laying. At what age do chickens stop growing? Thanks in advance!

They stop growing up at approximately 7/8 months but will still fill out for another few months months. All birds are different.

If your feeding them good they can be full grown at 6 months or it can take a year or more when rashining(spelling?) food. Breeds ar different to. A production leghorn or a cornish can be grown 2 months an a new jersey giant may take well over a year.
