Lost our best friends "magpie colony"

Magpies are of the crow family and there is a reason a group of crows is called a murder, not a flock. It's their nature to be like that sadly.

So sorry you lost the ones that are tame and friendly toward you. I know they are a joy to have about. We really enjoyed them at the coast but have not seen many here.
 
I read this yesterday and couldn't post at work but it breaks my heart, I am soooooo sorry for this loss. It sure seems tragic to me when innocence is lost like that, I really felt terrible about this. You seem like such a sweet soul though, if it's any consolation, the fact that little children seek you out to help wounded animals certainly earns you a place in heaven......Darlene

The dear little fella is eating well with his very sharp little beak, Im feeding him with some wonderful formula for magpies, a lovely lady from a wildlife rescue team dropped in some formula for me and had a look at him.
She said not to get too optimistic about his outcome but im going to use positive energy to keep him going. He is standing on both legs tonight and is sleeping with his head tucked in behind him, it is cool here tonight so Ive wrapped a blanket over his cage.
