Chad, I'm with you concerning critters. I might add weasels, and starlings to their list.

I'm considering raising rock doves (wild pigeons), what coopp requirements might I need? Can I just get some wild ones, pen them for some time and they will think its home?

Is anyone going to the Farm Show tomorrow? I'll be hanging out at the beekeeping assn's booth in the evening, so come say 'Hi'.

I'm annoyed at my marans today. As I mentioned before, I got a couple different colors from different sources, and got them separated last weekend.

The cuckoo girls hatched in March had just started laying a few weeks ago, gorgeous dark eggs. I hadn't gotten them separated into breeding pens yet and they're part of the free range group that lays in the nest boxes in the big chicken house (aka an old trailer) either that whole group is hiding eggs, or they've quit laying, cause we've been eggless for 5 days.

There was one egg in the pen of blues this morning, and two in the pen of black coppers. They're all disappointingly light colored. I'm pretty bummed.

What ever each one is, they will be sold, but geeez arent they adorable!!
