So cute!!

I'm putting a request out ... we're looking for a mature, FRIENDLY rooster for our small flock. Since our girls free range, I'd really feel better if there was a rooster around. Our rooster was always great about alerting the girls to danger and keeping them rounded up, so I miss that...not sure if they do or not! hahaaaaaa

I'm in Montgomery Co. Not really near you but I have some cochin roosters that are extremely docile. I have buff LF and a mixed bantam. Also have 2 sizzle roos as well. They are up for grabs for anybody. I'm keeping them around until I find homes for them because they are just too awesome and unique to get rid of at the auction. I gave one of my LF cochins to my sister in law and she loves him. No problems with him and my 3 young nieces.

Hello,

I am getting started on my chicken run and a few other projects. Does anyone in the York, South Central PA area know where I could get 1/2" x 1/2" fencing at maybe 48" x 75 0r 100? Lowes sells it in a 36" x 75' Ft roll for $48.
Hope this is a safe place for me to ask that type of question.
Thank you

Try either Tractor Supply or West York Agway, not sure on prices.

Thanks for the offers for roosters! Don't really want to travel hours just for a rooster....hahahaaa. I've gotten a lead on two 1-year-old Cochins and I'm getting excited. I've read that they have nice personalities, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Tractor Supply is where I usually go for fencing - though would like other options - price and quality wise
if you use poultry netting - re-enforce the bottom 3 feet with the 1/2 inch - and also bury or lay 18 inches along the bottom (attached to the fence) to keep predators from digging (cover with stones to keep flat or a couple of inches of soil. Hawks are a problem here - so I am using flight netting across the top (Stromburgs)
