x2, altho never that long, longest was a week, like to have froze to death, thank goodness we had a gas oven, did alot of cooking to keep the kitchen and living room warm, shut all the other rooms off. i have only three eggs that are due to hatch next weekend, at least i think, blue wheaten marans so really dark , very hard to candle. lets cross our fingers.

I have Turkeys. I made sure that I bought some that were raised by a broody chicken. I only have one pair of Royal Palms. They live right in the barn with the chickens, they go in at night to sleep, and Tommy treats the chickens like he is guarding them too. I don't know if they are "normal" or not. I had a pair of Bourbon Reds the year before and they got way to mean with the chickens. They get bigger too. Royal Palms, Midget Whites, and Black Spanish I think stay smaller. When I say smaller I mean 20 lbs for the tom. My cousin raises Blue Slate. There Thanksgiving turkey had to be cut in half, to be put in the oven. The bird was 9 months old and 40 lbs. That's a lot of turkey!!!

Big bird!! Yeah, my friend's royal palm looks to be around 24ish pound but he's an old fatty! I'm probably going to get Blacks and Narragansetts this year but I'm sort of sketchy about it because I've heard Narragansett toms can easily hit 30+ pounds

So I'm a bit worried about how they're going to do together. I'm not too concerned about my Chicken flock, the turkey's have their own digs (20x10 run + soon to be walk-in coop) so I can just alternate free-run days if the species have a problem with each other
 
When I walk into my office this is what I see....
