I agree and being a nail technician / manicurist, my eyes are always drawn to people's hands. And you sure can learn a lot!
I'm reposting this question since it may have gotten looked over. Can a chick or chicken eat too much and 'burst asunder' (have a crop blow out)? The other day kind of made me wonder with my fatty pattys stuffing their little beaks and getting breasts like Dolly Parton.
I have seen my birds with crops so full they about drug on the ground... and they definitely swayed enough that one of my hens looks like she's gonna fall on her beak when she waddles around with it like that. Believe it or not they actually sell 'crop supports' for birds who have trouble with their crops being too pendulous... think 'one sided bra for birds!'.
But I have not ever had one burst...I'm not saying it isn't possible, but I haven't seen it myself. If it is possible at all I would think it would be an associated problem to impaction more than a stand alone problem of just over stuffing themselves.
