Welcome to the wonderful world of broodies!! LOL
it could be worse... you could be worrying about temp spikes and humidity!!
Hi hey thanks for the encouragement! There are alot of roosters around. I wish I could take them all... I dream of a farm, my own or rental...oh wait, reality!
For now I can have one...maybe 2 (chicken math, black out coops, neighbors who work and neighbors who are very chicken friendly)
I love the D'uccle look. I love Vulture hocks, beards and feather legs, they are very sweet and friendly.
Im trying to mix it up a bit, purely for my own pleasure, as well as a good flock protector. Although there is not much predator pressure in the daytime because we are more residential than open fields and woods, and there are people and dogs out and around all day. But they are around. My worry is a random hawk finding my chicken stash.
I am looking for Brahma, Ameraucana, Cochin, Faverolle.... I found some Cochins...a really pretty SF and a bantam. I wonder if the bantam is big enough for the big hens? It looks like it, but not sure, my own inexperience with this.
I also love the blue eggs...
So - I want a guy ready for a new flock in a nice huge fenced backyard, tons grass, bugs, gardens, shade, dustbaths...chicken paradise....
