It's not all PO's.I have never lost a chick during shipping, and only ever get a few smashed eggs,,,now air cells are another story.

I also never have the boxes marked, no fragile stickers, no hatching eggs on box....when I send out I only mark boxes when asked to.
 
got the 2 roosters tonight, turned out to be very nice delawares, not sure the young kid knew what they were, he just knew they weren't hens..so let him take 3 hen's for them and didn't charge him . hubby now thinks I am nuts, but I can't help itwhen a young kid is just getting started..
bad side, I had to cut the wings, the only pen I have available has a 3 foot fence and I want them to stay put till they get used to the new surroundings

never let hubby read over your shoulder, they ask to many questions, then won't help you build things when they know you can do it yourself.

sally if you are that determined to have serama, I have a couple you could get....hubby makes fun of them because the pigeons in the silo are bigger then they are.

Men are WAY too easy ..ha ha, explained to the hubby that WE can make an incubator out of a cooler, I say-"WOW, look at how they did this. I wonder how that works?"...He says-"well they took the thermostat and blah,,blah."..you get the rest. ..hee,hee ..Hook-Line -and Sinker! ..One incubator comin-up! Got to love him!

I wanted to share the gifts Silver and I got in the mail today from Sparky the girl we sent the bator too along with extras from ebay!! She is terrible sweet and its great to know that she really really appreciated what is given to her!!! ChickyDee, I use DHs DeWalt 18 volt cordless drill. LOVE it! And yes, keep it charged.

Wingstone, have you considered Marans for your meat birds? I've read that their meat has a different (supposedly better) taste. I haven't noticed, but my son says it's true.

One of the goats figured out how to get loose today.. Watched my 9 yr old DD catch her up, struggle to carry the little pudge ball up the hill and then awkwardly dump her inside the fence. DD had hardly turned back around and little Miss SmartiePants goat was already back over the fence. Wish I had that on film.
