Some may think this is cruel, but when I was growing up my uncle taught me how to deal with aggressive roos. I don't have the patience to worry about having to watch my back or carry weapons into the coop or run. I've even read some posts on here of people doing this as a last resort. I do it as a first resort. If one flogs me, I pick him up, hold him upside down and dunk his head under water while counting to 5. You will not have to repeat this, he will not forget unless he is the seed of Satan.
I've only had one roo in the past 17yrs that this didn't cure. He was so mean he would attack the tractor trailer as i was pulling into the yard. I ended up putting him in the oven. As he was cooking, the heating element burned out. The DW hollered out the door that roo is so mean, he has now destroyed the stove.
