As far as I know, soybeans are a cheap and plentiful source of protein. I've heard raw beans are poisonous to chickens, but would it be fine to feed them boiled soybeans to boost egg laying and help with molting?

I know a breeder who has the soy beans ground and mixed in with other grains to give the feed a higher protein ratio. I don't think straight soy bean, in any form, would be healthy.
Any others out there with thoughts?

My birds are fed edamame, a type of soybean. We boil them, and feed the birds the now soft shells. They are great layers, never molt, and have no health issues. I say your safe.
I refuse to eat ANYTHING soy based and won't let my chickens either.

soak the soybeans overnite, boil for 20 minutes, cool drain and refridgerate. I feed 1 pint for 16 birds every day. Will keep for more than a week in fridge. Soybeans 70% protien.

Hate GMO in my diet, my ladies diet. Can't avoid all of it unless you have tons of money but I personally don't supplement with it. My girls like pintos, black beans. I think (don't quote me) that they are 16- 17 % protein. Same reason I grew organic heirloom corn for seed for next year. My girls get oats, wheat and BO sunlower seeds for scratch. Just my feeling, really hate GMOs.
