I got chicks this past summer and they were all supposed to be girls but one turned out to be a roo.He is so good and quiet. But this morning he crowed for the first time. We live in the burbs so he had to go.b I wanted to get it over with quickly so I called the feed store and they took him. I feel so bad he's such a good boy.

Try not to feel too bad, you were in a situation where you had no choice. He will go to a good home where he can crow to his hearts content. Meanwhile you gave him a great start in life.
Many people have had to do the same thing. It's hard to have chickens in the city and I'm sure a rooster would have made for some unhappy neighbors.
