My chicken has constipation, what do I do?

My chicken has recently had a bottom that has been bleeding, and today she seems to have costipation. She is puffed up like a ball and not being very active at all, she just stands there moving every so often with no motivation. Normally when I go to the shed to get some corn and they are all trying to jump in the bucket, but today she didn't even look up, and didn't touch the food when I placed it in front of her. Me and my mum washed her bottom and removed lumps of dried poo from inside her vent, and that seemed to cheer her up abit because she is now eating. Overall though, she is still very subdued.

What should I do?
 
Might seem like a daft question, but do you mean natural yoghurt?, and how would you go about feeding it to my chicken?
 
Sounds a lot more like she's egg bound. I'm assuming she's been laying before this happened? Search for egg bound in the archives. Can be very serious. Keep her warm and in a dark place. She needs calcium so yogurt is a good suggestion.
 
She has definately been laying previously, but I am unsure as to whether she has been laying eggs recently due to us having 4 chickens and because few eggs are being laid due to the cold weather. I've had a feel of her abdomen and I felt a lump between her legs but towards her left leg. We have brought her inside and are keeping her warm in a darkish place. She certainly seems worse than earlier, so we are getting some yoghurt. Is there any other way to see if she is egg bound or any other suggestions as to what the problem is.
 
I have never dealt with an egg bound chicken but there are lots of posts on BYC on what to do. it seems very important for you to act quickly. here's one thread that looked helpful:

you can search at the top right of the page, "google custom search" type in egg bound, click search. maybe try some of the advice in these threads and check back here for more advice, and give us updates. good luck, I hope she recovers.
 
We fed her the yoghurt and kept her inside over night with an electric heater nearby to keep her warm. She is now moving around and generally more active. However, when she does a poo, they are small rancid smelling pellets that are sticking to her rear feathers and hardening like cement really quickly, but at least she is pooing again.
