The Kitchen Table - come sit with us! new request added to post 1!

Kandra, me too! Ooh, it's so weird to be here and see our BYC screen names. I've gotten used to seeing you over on FB. So many of us migrated there. But, there were quite a few that I lost track of here at BYC. That is what I don't like about the internet. We make friends with people we have never met in person, and then life takes us away. If we were neighbors, we would feel badly and fix it by getting together. On the internet, the relationships evaporate, and we move on as if it doesn't matter. That's why I come back even when most of us are over at FB. It's tough to keep life real!!

Hi Stephanie,
Did it work freezing eggs? If so, how did you do it? I've never tried. I am down to 5 chickens now. I gave a couple to a friend, something keeps trying to dig into my chicken pen. They roost pretty high up, but these two were being broody in nest box, which is lower to ground, so better to give them away and be safe.
I've been busy with my summer position. This is my last week, and then some time off before school starts.

I am not sure of the fair dates yet. I tried to look, but ti wasn't posted yet. I'll keep checking. It would be great to see you again.

Good luck with your grad school.

eta: I just found the dates, Sept 10 - 15th

Wow! Is this thread actually still alive? It's been five years since my last post here. As I said to Kandra, life takes us away. I had three hens left, all quite old, but two still laying. Life in the coop had been very peaceful for years. As with all things, change is inevitable. In April, raccoons emptied my coop for the last time. :( I may incubate some eggs once the rotten masked beasts stop seeing my yard as a buffet. Anyhow, just curious is anyone still out there?

Good luck on getting in touch with your friends. I like rummaging around in old threads is how I happened to be here. As you said friends online tend to evaporate.
