I posted this in both Turkey and Guinea threads,

but can you keep them as poults and keets together in the same brooder until they are feathered and ready for the outside?

I want to know too! I have chickens, turkeys, and ducks, and hope that they can live with one of those three groups. All are pretty much freerange, but I need to know if my month old guineas who get along with everyone will turn into monsters.

Right now they have a cute multiracial setup, living with baby turkeys, ducklings, chukars, and pheasants. Everyone gets along and they are just adorable when they all cuddle together to sleep. So far everyone's happy in the large pen. When they stop being happy then I will have to seperate.

Do guineas have to get mean, or are they more like chickens and turkeys, where some are mean and others are friendly?

I had my half-grown guineas in a pen with Imelda the turkey and her silkie-chicken 'babies', they got along OK. Later the guineas were in with my spare roosters, which also worked out OK. Right now I have 2 guineas in with my hens and their rooster, Wonder. They are a little bossy with the chickens, but it worked out OK except for two young Ameraucana hens who were bullied to the point that they spend their days hiding in the nest box. I have since moved the two Ameraucanas in with Imelda and the silkies.

I do think that when they still need to be in the brooder they will do fine together, however.

Last year I hatched turkey eggs for the first time- the poults weren't real smart. After one died after not eating? I put a 1 week old keet in with them to stimluate/show them how to eat/drink. Having a faster friend seemed to really do the trick. This guinea hung out with them as they grew, shunning the rest of my guinea group. It was a sad, lonely day when the turkeys got butchered and the guinea hen got left with the guineas and chickens. She has been odd man out with my 4 other guineas, but recently things have changed and I'm now getting eggs (a month later than last year!). I'm hoping for some fertile eggs- I'm saving to incubate next week. The hard part is that they have been laying in a corner of the hen house and sometimes get buried in ths shavings. I put 2 easter eggs (filled with sand) down in the corner hoping that will keep them returning to the same spot. We will see. I'm hoping to have young keets around to help raise some peachicks (if I can get them to hatch!) Great little helpers for the "slower" species!

Yes, we have guineas, chickens, an turkeys all together. No problems except the guineas chase the rooster sometimes.

I have full grown guineas that I cannot free range cause of the neighbors, will they be all right if I put them in with the full grown chickens? or will the rooster kill them? Something tried to get them last night so into the chicken coop at 2:30 in the morning!!
