Can anyone tell me what gender my Rhode Island Red is? {She} is about 4.5 weeks old.

how do you know that she is a she? I have some RIR chicks about the same age and i would love to be able to sex them so we could give them permenant names.
 
I'd say pullet. My definite boy is 4 weeks and you'll see the difference lol. She looks like my two that I'm pretty sure are girls. Feathered out the same, too. I'll post my roo's pic for you

Good! My daughter named her Ariel.

My husband wasn't 100% on board with the whole chickens in our backyard thing.... Until this one cuddled right up to him and fell asleep. She was the first to learn how to perch because he would always hold her on his finger. She doesn't really care so much about me {female jealousy???} She is super curious, but aloof to everyone except my husband.

I think it'd crush both my daughter and my husband if this one turned roo on us!
