So, I Was in gunnedah, (an australian town 45 minutes from where i live) and i went to the Animal Nursery. It Was Horrible.

So, Let me Explain... A 'Show' Is Like A Carnival Where there are rides, games, and stock sections including a poultry show, a stud section where breeders can meet other breeders of cattle, horses, etc. the 'Animal Nursery' is like a petting zoo. and the animals there are for sale. for an example, chickens, guinea pigs, lambs and ducks. so i went to take a look, and tere were children chasing these 2 silkies around, picking them up, holding them upside down, then they squeezed them so tight, i thought the'd BURST! then they dropped them about 2 feet off the ground, upside down! They'd Stay Still For A While, Ruffle Their Feathers... And 2 Seconds Later, It'd Start ALL OVER AGAIN! And They're Parents Were Just Marvelling At how cute the're children were! "Aww, Honey, Look At Tayla Chasing that chicken around!"

so i did the first thing that came to mind. i bought them for a huge ransom of $25 for two silkies!

They're terrified of people now.
the 2 silkies were coloured, and i mean like they were dyed, but they used a powder instead of a dye.

Here They Are!!
This One We Think Is A rooster... He's Pink!

A month in quiet quarantine and showing them nothing but love and gentle kindness will probably alleviate most of their terror of humans. Though judging by the pictures, they don't look too terribly freaked out, for all they had experienced such a traumatic day with the kiddies. But what ya wanna bet they'll always be terrified of children? And who could blame them?

Keep us posted on their progress. It sure would be nice to see some pictures of them looking like properly colored silkies and not something that spilled out of a bag of Skittles!

The things people do to animals in the name of amusing their spoiled brats! And yes, I dislike that whole notion of coloring chicks for Easter!

ETA: You wanted help with names? How about something dignified and noble. Maybe it will help to wash away the ignominy of being pink and orange.....just a suggestion..... Sampson and Delilah? Mark Antony and Cleopatra? Spencer (Tracey) and Katherine (Hepburn)? All just suggestions!
