I was searching on line and found a 3 gallon waterer that has a place in the back where you can attach an electric cord so you don't need a seperate heating base. I can't find it anywhere now and I can't remember where I saw it. Does anyone know what I am talking about, where to find it, and if it works?

For more money total you can buy the galvanized waterer and a separate heater base. I already have the galvanized waterer so all I would need to do is buy the base it runs around 50.00 check smith's or randall burkee on prices.

I used the water pictured in the 2nd post. I purchased mine at Meyers Hatchery. It worked really well last winter. Of course, I only used it from November till March, but so far, so good. It's really not any harder to fill than most of the plastic founts. I carry it upside down till I get out of the mud room, then flip it outside. Just be careful not to twist it as you flip it, or it "unscrews" from the base and you end up flooded w/water!

It's a bit less expensive than the base and galvanized system, and I wanted something I could add ACV to if I wanted, which is a no-go with the galvanized.
