DE for human consumption?

I think if you're an older woman, the extra calcium would be good, as we suffer from bone loss the older we get.

There is NO calcium in DE

It's Silica, Alumina, and Iron Oxide

Wolf Creek Ranch has a great info page on DE. They have used it on their dogs when chemicals did not work. The vet on that site has taken DE for years and once told me about a cancer research center that is studying human grade DE taken internally. It is an absorbant that removes bacteria that can contribute to ill health in the intestines.

I have been taking De almost 2 weeks now. The only thing I have really noticed is that I do seem to have more energy than before. I mix mine into yogurt, oatmeal, or sprinkle over my cereal. I did put some in cornbread once, that was ok, but you probably aren't getting a known amount that way, but I tried it just to see what would happen. I think you could put it into meatloaf or spaghetti sauce, soup, or other liquid/wet foods that allows you to mix it in well. I'll keep taking it and see how it goes.

Also, please remember that it is an absorbant and you MUST take plenty of liquids (water) so as not to dehydrate. Those that take it for colon health drink lots of water to flush the DE and bacterial waste out of their systems.
