can button quail fly???

they can fly alright i have had a button quail run away from me before then i saw a hour later on top of my neighbors house i tried catching but flew past me flew flying over my house landing across the block never could find it so yeah quick like sparrow
 
Yes, clip them. I was cleaning their cage right outside my house today and one of my males flew over my house! It was the lower end of the house/roof (two story house), but still, that's quite a feat for a "small quail" to do. I ran to my backyard and couldn't find it. I'm going to consider it lost...

They're not as agile in the air as regular flight birds but do not underestimate the height of their jump/flight. Trimming the flight feathers will drastically reduce the height in which they take off at. They shouldn't be able to fly over you (or your house) and escape, that's for sure!
