Please help - stick tight flea I think???

Yes, these sticktight fleas are bugs from hell. I have had chickens for 20 years and have never seen them till now. I am trying to read as much as i can from chicken people, but most of the comments and replies are just guesses and most people don't know what they are talking about. Many people are giving advice on how to kill them and they don't know anything about this sticktight flea. If i find a cure, i will post it for others, but for now, most of us are just being tortured by these things as they cling to and suck blood in colony groups to as many warm blooded creatures as they can find.

Please, if someone does not have experience or even know about these type of FLEAS, and YES they are FLEAS!, please don't give advice - that is dangerous.

IOWEN, did you ever figure out how to get rid of them?
 
Yeah, all my chooks have the same thing, but with way more than that. It is really bad.

I am really worried about my chickens. They have them all over.
Just above their eyes and all over their crown. I can't seem to get them off and I am really worried.
I did give them garlic oil, for worms, and the fleas seemed to disapear for a while but then came back.
Maybe it was just a coincidence...
