Chicks laying on their side and stretching a wing

This is my second set of chicks.  When I let them outside, they wind up laying against the side of the pen and stretching one wing out.  It seems weird, is their skin irritated or something?  They act fine, I just don't want them suffering.  I appreciate any help.

gig They are just enjoying the sun. It always scares people the first time they do it. Sometimes they will fall to the ground completely and look like they are dead.

Almost looks like a double homicide.

I have a couple that even do it in the brooder, under the heat lamp.  I have pulled the lamp far enough away that they jump to the edge of the brooder and balance there, leaning and spreading out one wing...  then turning the other way to warm the other wing!
