We have our coop up and are starting to do the run. The ground that we have is not really level and we are having a hard time getting a good idea of what would work best! We would like to be able to walk into the run. Any pictures or ideas would be helpful!

I have a run that is basically just the middle yard with a fence in the center of it. The hens dont jump out and it works and looks great. I did have to clip the wings of my one hen But I only had to clip her feathers the one time. Now that she is laying and heavier she no longer goes over the fence. But it only takes a couple of minutes to clip the flight feathers and they dont feel anything. Here are several pictures of our run and you might want to check the coop section as faykoko said.

The fence is about 5 feet tall and is not covered. The coop is shut up each night at dark and is predator proof. The dogs also have a dog door and one of the chicken yard fence walls is a shared wall with the dogs area. So that also keeps stray animals out of our yard.

We had about a 1 foot drop in our run area. It is 12 ft wide and we just "stepped" the 4x4's and filled the run with sand after did it. Here are a few under construction pics......

This is great - thanks!

We used 1x2 14 Ga. welded wire, galvanized after weld. A 5 ft., and 6 ft. wide rolls. The 6 ft. was perfect for the shorter end wall, and we put the bal. of the width in the ground as shown.
