One of my girls looks a bit suspicious. First she lost a lot of feathers, and then her bum became red as you can see. Now it looks very swollen too. Feathers have started to grow, but she does not seem very vivid. I have one hen isolated with vent gleet. Is this the same problem?

Thanx in advance.

I am careful with what i am feeding them. I started giving them nystamin to clean their intestines. But from what i have seen and what i have found the last few days yogurt and garlic are good methods of solving the problem. Any other suggestions?

Any idea if copper sulfate works?

That link I posted had some interventions, although I can't say as I agree with the molasses and water, since it quite possibly is a type of yeast infectin, and sugar feeds yeast. And the epsom salts, not so sure about that one either. but it said, probiotics, apple cider vinegar etc. I have seen gleet before, but have never had to treat it. Poor hens. I hop you can successfully treat it, and figure out what caused it. I'm sure there are many hear who have had to deal with it. Good luck!
