when to remove heat lamp

i sold 16 chicks(cant remember now, 1 or 2 weeks old) to somebody at work and they had them outside with no heat in like 20something degress, and only lost 4. which was a surprise to me.

he felt bad about it though and keeps them in his house (i think they are still in there now at like 6 weeks and 70s outside)

Well I only have 4 and I don't want to risk losing any of them, so I will keep them in for now. At 70 degrees thats a bit much to be keeping them in still LOL.

We don't have a brooder with a lid, but it's kinda like the ones at TSC (at least at my local store) ,except ours is wooden and we made it. it's about 3 feet tall and they have lots of room to run around, but our plymoth rocks (which are decendants to barred rocks)fly very high, and one with a lot of feathers almost flew over it, so if you are thinking about making one, you should probobly make it taller since they are 4 weeks old.
