How do i know if my chickens have worms?

This may be a silly question but could someone please explain to me this? My girls are only 3 month old but I'd like to give them a valbazen treatment now. They aren't laying and probably won't for at least another month or more. I know the waiting period before using the eggs is 24 days with that treatment. But what if they aren't laying yet? Will I need to worry still about their first few eggs?
Not a silly question, and it's okay to treat them now. Most people wait 14 days past last treatment to eat eggs, so you should be fine.

I pulled a worm off the back of one of my buckeyes today. I thought it was odd that it was on her back. It looked like a super skinny earth worm. Im not sure if it was just stuck to her back or if it was coming out of her! I havnt seen any worms in the stool but honestly I havnt been paying too much attention in looking. The flock is healthy minus one girl who had a bug or something and has been quarantined for about a week now. Im getting good egg production, about one a day. I am feeding a layer crumble, with scratch grains and oyster shell added in. Dried meal worms for treats, and supplements in the water (Not sure of the brand off hand), one containing oregano and vitamins and the other a layer vitamin. Any advice would be great on what to do here! I dont want my pretty ladies having worms come out of them!

Confused because worms arent supposed to be on the back
