The Iodine because it is essential to human life, and if you can't have salt then you require the Iodine from another source. It is a common anti-septic, and that is the only kind I can find on the shelf so I'll do what I was going to do with it anyhow, that is, put it into the chicken's water a few drops at a time. It might keep the water clean, but either way it will end up in me via the eggs, which is what I want. (and is essential to life did I mention ?)
Oh, it stops CRETINISM, which is a disease with a name worth mentioning.
Oh and you can use it on the chooks wounds as if they were people too.
