When can I put my chicks outside!!!

I have always put my chicks out when the temps stayed above 50's at night. Of course they get a lamp until it gets much warmer and/or they're fully feathered out. Yes, having them in the house is an ordeal we all must go through, but the end result is so rewarding! Keep thinking about all the fresh eggs.....

My four week old chicks had their first night in the coop. They have outgrown their brooder so I thought it was the right thing to do sine the coop is big, but it was cold, 35 deg so we used a 250 watt red light. They seem to be fine, didn't even huddle up under it. This morning they were lying in the nest box, away from the heat. I'm curious how would I know if one of them is having a problem? What happens if they get too cold?

Hi, jumping in here

I have mum and her chicks indoors at the moment and my question is can i put her outside with the chicks in a contained coop within my run? The coop has an outside run and nesting box but the babies are only a week old and I think mum is getting a Lil bored/frustrated.
