hiya, over the last 2 days ive seen a couple of bits of what looks like blood in my chickens poop.im not sure which one it is as i have 9 and theyve all got the run of the back garden.they all seem healthy in themselves, eating drinking and definately pooping, ive got 3hens who are about 21weeks,the guy doesnt know exactly how old,we got them a month ago and was told theyre between 18 and 21weeks,ones laying ,but the other 2 arent could they be the culprits?is this somthing that sometimes happens??x

no i didnt know about it,only had them about 4weeks so learning everything, will do now thanks,xx

ive just looked at them all, euwwwwwwwwwwwww, theres not half as much red stuff in mine as there is in the 2last normal ones, phewwwwww was panicking so much then,is it normal for the 2older hens not to be laying yet when the smallest of the 3 older one has????xx

Dont expect chickens to all lay at the same times, even older ones. Egg laying times vary breed to breed, other factors are involved as well. Give the older ones time, they'll lay eggs eventually. As far as the poop is concerned, it sounds like they shed intestinal lining which is normal.

ye i dont expect them to lay at the same time etc.just thought it may be something like she couldnt lay or something if i make sense.but defo feel relieved after looking at the poop pics haha, the one i was actually thinking about has just in the last hour started acting like my first chicken that laid, been in the nest box squating about squarking ,and her back end is kind of contracting,so im presuming shes wanting to try to lay now.xx

That was a great "poop chart"! Answered our question right quick. Is this stickied somewhere?
