Can you trap a chicken in one of those humane traps? This rooster is living in bushes between a freeway and an off ramp, and I don't want to scare him into traffic. I'll only attempt this if I can find a safe and legal home for him but was wondering how I'd catch him if I do find him a home. I don't think getting him at night is an option as the bushes are very thick and the process of staking out his roosting spot could send him into traffic.
Oh yeah - would anyone like a very pretty white rooster with a red patches on him? Don't know the breed but his comb is very very small and he is medium sized, about the size of my BA hen but smaller than a BA rooster. I would be willing to drive him anywhere within a few hours of the Bay area in Northern CA but not if he's dinner. If I put an ad on craigslist I guess I'd have to ask for $ to make sure he's not eaten - is $10 enough to make sure he's not eaten?
