We have a couple domestic guinea hens in with 2 pairs of Vulturines and this year have raised some hybrids from that pen.

The domestic hens are a Pearl and a Royal Purple. The hybrids are getting the Vulturine colors. Here are photos of the oldest hybrids: (the color is better than what the photos show)

I just listed some eggs from this pen on ebay:

Very pretty. Are vulturine guineas as loud as the regular ones? I want some guineas, but don't think my neighbors would appreciate the noise.

The vulturines are alot quietier than domestic guineas, their normal chatter is a little whistle.

Is their care the same? Do they get along well with other birds? Do they control bugs like other guineas? Looks like I need to do some research...

And looks like it's too cold for them here. Do the hybrids tolerate cold better?

As always, LOVE your Vulturines. I have to ask though, I hear they aren't the hardiest birds out there - How are the hybrids in terms of care, climate, etc. ?

Pure Vulturines are not winter hardy. I do not know of anyone that has any hybrids or found much info on them.

I think the hybrids will be alot more cold tolerant. About like Spalding peafowl; Spaldings are a cross between Java Green peafowl (which are not cold hardy) and hardy India Blue peafowl. Spaldings can handle cold temps.

Otherwise care for the Vulturines or Hybrids is the same as domestic guineas.
