Wow.....That gives me some hope.

I'll probably fall off.

Yesterday was my first ever bareback ride on Dezi, or any horse, and I haven't fallen off yet! Amazing, huh?

I've only been riding for, like, 3 to 6 months, I'm sure you can do it if I can. The key to riding bareback with non-gaited horses is 'Never break out of a walk'.

Have somebody lead you at a walk in an enclosed area for a while first until you feel you have your balance, try things like holding your arms out, leaning to the sides, practice gripping with your legs, or even just sit a while and wiggle around until you lose the feeling like you are about to slide off, don't worry, it's just a feeling though.

That's what I did. Dezi walked over in the shade of a tree and I just sat on him for probably an hour, then I told him to walk forward and he started doing circles in the shadow of the tree for a while, until i got down and made him leave.
