was that directed at me? Snow was killed by a hawk about 15 minutes after letting her out to free range. I went into the house to get something, came back out, and realized three of my five big girls were missing. I went searching, and found Snow with a HUGE hawk sitting on her
He had eatten down to her keel, and was working on plucking more feathers. I ran him off, and searched for my two missing BLRW who I found cowering under the deck, as far under as they would fit. They came running out when they saw me, and we all ran back to the coop
It was right before I had to leave for work, so I stashed her body to bury it the next day. The hawk found it under the awning the next day...I had to run him off again. She never even laid her first egg
She was quite the character, and always curious to see what you were doing. I miss her lots and lots. I have lots of pictures of her in my face...none of my other girls had that kind of curiosity.
