Ran out of feed and everything is closed! What can I feed my chickens?

If they can't free range, they LOVE pasta, dry beans that ARE cooked, veggies, bread, scraps galore. I know in the winter when they are not free ranging as much and the cost of feed is high....I give them rice and beans on top of all the left overs each day and they really thrive:)
 
I've always heard to NEVER feed any animal raw potatoes, but other than that it's free choice. Dog, cat and/or bird food, leftovers (ours love taters & gravy), rice, pasta, stale bread, cereal, fruit (try grapes, they'll fight over them), veggies, even meat scraps. You name it, they'll probably eat it.
If you have the time, you can also dig up worms, grubs and bugs in the yard. A word of warning though, once you've done this they will flock to you anytime they see you with a shovel expecting a protein fix.
