I've browsed this site before many times but never bothered to register. I'm looking to buy some hatching eggs, so finally bit the bullet.
I've had chickens for years. I started in 1995, when we finally moved to a couple of acres. We moved to Texas a few years later, so just got back into chickens in 2006. I try not to count my chickens- usually have a couple hundred, I think, but I'd rather not know exactly!
I have all sorts of breeds right now- some basic hybrid layers- Golden Comets, etc., a few bantams- d'Uccles and partridge cochins mostly, a few Polish, some Buckeyes, Welsummers, Cuckoo Marans, Ameraucana ( really just Easter eggers for now- have some standard colors coming soon), Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, a few cream brabanters, and who knows what else.
Not sure where I heard about BYC first- known about it for years.
Other hobbies- decorative painting and scrapbooking
I'm the mother of 9 children and homeschool- down to the last two in high school now. They grow up too fast! I have five grandchildren- hope to have many, many more eventually!
I guess that's basically it!
