Mature chickens can kill babies. Fortunately our girls are so sweet. We have never had an issue introducing newbies. We have Barred Rocks, Rhode Island Reds, and Black Stars. They love us, the dog, the cats and anything else we add lol. But just in case, we always do a fenced introduction and wait until dusk so everyone is pretty calm. It also helps if the chickens have adequate space.
