What is the proper way to lay eggs in turner? Candling?

What is the proper way to lay eggs in the egg turner? Would it be small side down?
When looking at candling pictures it seems the pictures show the egg on it's side when candling.
Does it matter if eggs are candled small side down or turned on it's side?
Thank you for answers, I'm so new at this and the more I learn the dumber I feel

Almost was to embarrassed to ask these questions.

dont be embarrassed thats what everyone is here for ...too either teach or learn.
now to your question small end down in your turners ...best way to candle is on side but that said some candlers are made to set your egg on small end down.

When I first started incubating I could not figure out, "egg turner." I kept trying to figure out how that thing would "turn," the eggs. Took me awhile, and lots of questions, until I finally learned it "rocks," the eggs, not really turning them.

Yes, you put the eggs with the smaller, pointy, end down.

Candling.... I never remove the eggs from the egg turner. I never touch them. I have a little Coleman flashlight, that I bought at Walmart. It is called Coleman MAX, 115 Lumens LED Ultra Bright. I think it was $29. or something like that. I just hold it over the top of the egg and can see if it is developing. Anyway, that's how I do it...... Different people do it differently.

For my egg candler, I bought a mini LED Flash light. I wrapped the tip of it with weather stripping foam tape. The foam helped with cupping around the top of the egg, and the light only goes through the egg.

As for candling I candle with the eggs in the turner (Blunt end up, pointy end Down), and can usually candle the eggs pretty fast rather than taking each individual egg out of the egg turner to candle.

What is the proper way to lay eggs in turner? Candling?
