Age for butchering a goose?

I ordered 3 geese and many ducks. One of the geese is to be for meat. What is the best age to butcher it?

Geese:

9-11 weeks
15-17 weeks
22-26 weeks

I don't think they grow enough after 17 weeks to make it worth feeding them for the additional time.

Feel the breast for pinfeathers. Believe me, you really want to time it so you butcher when there are no pin feathers.

A slow smoked goose is to die for!
I smoke them - then pressure cook them for 20 min to loosen ALL of the meat from the bone.
I do it on a rack to save the broth. Smoked goose broth makes incredible rice!

Hello. I've just made my own smoker, and am about to buy myself a Goose for Xmas, but I will be Butchering it well before and have the Breast for Xmas and Boxing Day, but have the legs and wings maybe Thanks Giving. How long do you Smoke the Goose for? hot or cold? i was going to use pine cones to smoke? Thanks
