Hi,
I've have some of these. I haven't bred them yet, though. Does anyone know anything about them?

A Bit on the stocky side for a BLC, but looks good! I take it from the lack of spurs that he's 1 yr. old give or take a little?

Hhhm... the 'Genetic stock' of the Blackcoal tribe of BLF has been found recurring with Blue Skin ~ not authentic. What a dissapointment.

Okay, a few of you were wondering about this. BLF have been broken into 6 genetic 'tribes', and 3 strains

There won't be many who will understand this, but...

{Partride Tribe}
- Silver Partridge (S/S)
- Gold Mantled (S/S; Ap+/ap)
- Gray Mantled (S/S; ap/ap)

{Bronze Tribe}
- Bronze (E/E; Ml/Ml; Co/Co; S/S; ap/ap or Ap+ap)
- Silver Bronze (E/E; Ml/Ml; Co/Co; S/S)
- Black (E/E; Ml/Ml)

{Cuckoo Tribe]
- Silver Cuckoo (E/E; Ml/Ml; Co/Co; S/S; B^sd/B^sd)
- Autumnal (E/E; Ml/Ml; Co/Co; S/S; B^sd/B^sd; ap/ap or Ap+/ap)
- Cuckoo (E/E; Ml/Ml; B^sd/B^sd)

{Crele Tribe}
- Silver Crele (S/S; B^sd/B^sd)
- Gold Mantled Cuckoo (S/S; Ap+/ap; B^sd/B^sd)
- Gray Mantled Cuckoo (S/S; ap/ap; B^sd/B^sd)
- Autumnal Partridge (Ml/Ml; S/S; ap/ap; B^sd/B^sd)

{Blackcoal Tribe}
- Blackcoal (Ml/Ml; S/S; ap/ap or Ap+/ap)
- Blacksnow (Ml/Ml; S/S)
- Quail (Ml/Ml; Co/Co; S/S; ap/ap or Ap+/ap)
- Silver Quail (Ml/Ml; Co/Co; S/S)

{Columbian/Cornelia Tribe}
- Cornelia (Co/Co; S/S; ap/ap)
- Columbian (Co/Co; S/S)

BTW, another update, about 10 specimens representing the Backcoal tribe were found without Blue Skin ~ however, most of the tribe has been 'contaminated' with that gene, almost inarguably introduced from silkies.

Yep. A couple of these will be added to the wesite shortly.
BTW, they don't breed true to color. The Genetic Tribes are for the classification of certain colors. They have a certain small roster of genes (mostly incompletely dominant), and they produce many intermediates, which can theoretically be used to breed true-breeding stock. nobody has done this yet. All tat really matters is that Type and growth rate, and traits are consistent, so they are authentic.
