"No. I'm not. i think, i think i.. i don't know what to do..." Kat stared off into the distance. Waiting.. for something, any thing. Hopeing someone would save her brother.

"I'm sorry, Kat...There isn't much I can do..." Keahi walked away, exchanging some words with Devereux before leaving.

"It's.. it's just hard." She draped her neck over his and cried.The tears kept coming for a long time. His luxorious mane captured all of them making it damp.
Kat felt safe with Dev. He was strong, brave and she felt that he cared deeply for her. Kat trusted him. She had found her new mate.

"It's gonna be okay..." He whispered to her.
"I just hope that they find him. I.. I don't think i'll be able to do anything until they do." Kat backed away and returned to her foals. She nudged them back from the water and settled down to sleep. they curled up beside her and slept also.
Flicka was by the stream, giving the agitated water a skeptical glare, even though there was nothing to glare at.
