Hen has always had trouble laying but now.......

I have an Australorp cross who has always laid extremely thin shelled eggs that always have small calcium build ups all over one end. I've always thought if the shell is thick enough to hold the egg then I guess it is ok. For the past month she has only laid broken eggs. Lately she has been in the nesting box for very long periods of time and the other hens have been laying on the floor. It seems that she is having trouble laying these broken eggs? I am wondering what if anything can I do? Is this simply a situation where she is not a good layer?

Any advice is appreciated

You can boil some eggs let them cool crush them up real good & feed them to your chickens.

I'm out of eggs. But I know where some brown ones are. I now raise big Ol' Honkin' Bob Whites & Layed back Coturnix. Pray For Rain In Texas!
