I still don't buy into the whole "Birther" thing yet, but I gotta say, watching the back-and-forth is extremely entertaining.
Also: I LOVE the photo, but sadly, I believe that it was photoshopped.
I think that whole birther thing is just plain silly. But what fascinates me is why that Arizona sheriff thinks he can determine whether Obama's, or for that matter, anyone's, birth certificate is legit or not. What qualifications does he have as a forensic document examiner? I remember some years ago a man attending a seminar in an FBI building walked into a room that was supposed to be locked but wasn't. He was only trying to take a picture of the city from the high rise window. Some FBI agents saw that the door was ajar, walked in to investigate, and found the fella with the camera. They were just sure, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he was up to some nefarious purpose or other. They made him empty his pockets and show his ID. Now this man was employed in the White House in some capacity or other and had the credentials to prove it. The FBI wasn't buying it. They were SURE that the credentials were fake. After all, they were real FBI agents and they could tell just by looking that the credentials were not only fake, but not very good fakes at that. In an effort to determine if the man was really who he said he was (or rather proove that he wasn't) they called his supposed boss in the White House. Boss was to ask him some questions that only he would know the answer to. By this time, after being grilled for what seemed hours, he was so rattled he could not have told you what his own name was, let alone anything else. So of, course he couldn't answer the questions. Eventually, the whole mess was straightened out and our hero, by this time a nervous wreck, was free to go on his way. The point is this. If the FBI could not determine just by looking if the credentials were fake or not, what makes the sheriff think he can? And why does anyone care what he thinks anyway?
you are missing the point. the bill does not say that his birth certificate is fake. the bill requires that all candidates sign an affidavit -under penalty of perjury.
IF and only IF it turns out the candidate lied -under penalty of perjury - then he will face the consequences; most likely prison.
also, IF sheriff joe does indeed have evidence at hand that proves the birth certificate is a forgery, you will not hear about it until AFTER the affidavit is signed
therefore, I believe both Democrats and Republicans will bend over backwards to have this bill killed.
I wasn't referring to the bill per se. The SHERIFF thinks the birth certificate is fake. Or at least he said he does. On several occasions. But methinks he is simply trying to divert attention from his own problems. As in the best defense is a strong offense. As for the authenticity of the birth certificate, the sheriff has no way to determine it one way or the other. He just doesn't.
