We are new into the world of chickens, started 1month ago with 5 from a friend 3 buff orp. 1 E.E. and a barred rock. All very friendly.and soon saw that we needed more. So chicks seemed a great idea. My girls and I can get enough , my wife and son (14) not so much. NEW chicks include 6 more buff orp. 2 R.I., 2 spec. Sussex,

AND 2 OF THE SCARIEST LITTLE BIRDS IN TANEY COUNTY MO. The sign said " PART ROCK" I ask the nice man what kind of a chicken that was. He smiled and said " oh that's one of them partridge Rock, looks like a barred rock NICE BIRD! I said " I'll take 2 please". 3 1/2 old weeks now and were scared to go out side. They are streamlined and fast, they dart all around the pen LIKE THEY ARE A TEAM. Bent over like one of those Velciraptors from Jurasic Park. I don't think there a Partridge Rock, I'm not even sure theyre a chicken!

Sorry I went on so long, Glad to be here among other crazy chicken people.

I completely understand what you are going through. We started with 4, we went and got 2 more.... And then 4 more and 3 fertile eggs that are now in our homemade incubator! Had NO idea they would be so addictive.

Hello and :welcome
They have a name for that round here, "chicken math". ;)
Yeah, there is a stage when the chicks are a few weeks old, and they look like little scruffy rugby balls... :p Enjoy the site, don't hesitate to ask any questions you might have! :frow
