and rat snakes are not venomessim not quite sure what kind of snake it is but im leaning towards a rat snake but i dont think it is poiseness
There is a couple of flaws in the above picture examples. The top left hand snake is a non-venomous juvenile tree python. The snake in the top left hand corner appears to be a black mamba which is of course extremely venomous. In native species it might be true that elongated pupils and pits around the mouth indicate a venomous snake, but that is not true of non-native species. Many species of pythons (such as the one above) have pits. A lot of non-venomous species have slitted pupils. My boas all of elongated pupils and of course are not venomous. Coral snakes do not have pits or slitted pupils and are venomous. That is not a very reliable way to tell the difference as indicated by the top two snakes.this help
