What did you do in the garden today?

Just got back from Oregon. 9 hour drive each way. Driving was insane, real bad accident along the way.

Helped put together 200 Lavender sprigs for table settings at Nephews wedding in Oregon. Picked them from sisters yard, with her yelling don't take all of them.

Wedding was really nice. At a gazebo along a river. Still it was 90 in Oregon.

102 back here in California and thanks to my niece all chickens and gardens survived. :yesss:

Jen, how goes it? Just woke up itchy, more bumps from creeper or ivy. It gets old.
Yes, i hope to get some good shopping in. Need one of those garden carts that dumps. Dragging a full 50 gallon tote is wearing on my old bones.
Need hardware cloth in 2 sizes, wood, plywood etc. And need to get some food. Etc.
Guess i will try to get more sleep.

How did the work go Cap, and was it poison ivy? My girls (dogs, not chickens, lol) pick it up in the woods and deposit on the couch and chairs for me to get : (

Ok. For seed plant swap I have a list of stuff I have or can grab out of the garden/yard. Let me know if you want something. I only have a little of most of it, but expect more of some of it later in the season. I'm hoping my plumeria will make seeds sometime soon. It's been blooming it's head off all year! But no seed pods yet.

Did a lot of watering today, also weeded some beds and deadheaded some flowers. It's hard to keep up with the weeds, they just keep coming like alien invaders . Also spent most of the day worrying about our resident chipmunk, who lives under our very long wooden walkway. I give him treats (seeds & nuts), and he's become tame enough to come when I call him (most of the time), but today he didn't show up till around 3-4 pm. I was so happy to see him, that I gave him extra "goodies". (maybe that was his plan all along...)

It is so great to visit family, especially for a happy event like that. The drive each way is gruelling, though. Hope you can take it easy tonight and maybe sleep in tomorrow.

Hey Jen! It doesn't matter if it is creeper or ivy, i am allergic to both. This place is just loaded with the stuff. I keep pulling it out, but it may be a losing battle. Hope when i get goats they will help me win. I got a big tow chain for husband at Harbor Freight, i had one but it got sold when we moved to FL. Also bought a driveway alert system So we know when someone is here before the dog does. Got a free tarp but they were out of cooling towels. I was looking for cheap exterior paint but found none so i am using a can i bought before. Really, at $8 a gallon you can't go wrong. All the boards are cut for the floor, except the plywood and i will do that tomorrow . A little more painting and assembly and i will have a floor! My silly Shepherd keeps smelling my pumpkin plant. I do not know why, but i don't want her to eat it. I have enough problems with bugs. Guess i should go relax before bed, get the kitty chores done. Night folks!

me too run through here on a few threads off to sleep Dr. appt tomorrow trying to see if i can find one I can respect closer to home than 2 hr 45 minutes away

Good Luck. I know how important it is for that mutual respect between you and your doc.

My team of docs is in Cleveland, 6 hours away. Took me YEARS to assemble them (they sortof as assembled themselves, each one recommending the next, and all of them working well together - kindof unusual for a VA medical center).

Our farm is 50 minutes from the Lexington VA, and I can't find ONE let alone a team - so I go back to Cleveland once or twice a month.
