Day 18 lockdown question

This is my first hatch, please give advice. I have a little giant incubator and I have Cochin eggs inside. Today is day 18. But I heard Cochin should go into lockdown at day 16 or 17 due to hatching at day 19 at times. My humidity has been perfect up till lockdown and I pulled the other red vent out and now it's crazy!!! Incubator numbers read 54% and temp 99.3 I have additional therompture "happy farm" it reads 94% temp 94.3. What's going on? Please advise. Thank you

What does day 18 lock down mean
Is this your first hatch in this incubator? I always run an incubator with a thermometer I can trust and ignore the one on the device OR I set the device based on the thermometer I trust. For example, my Janoel is set at 89.9, but that is 99.5 according to my trusted thermometer.
we put eggs in "lockdown" on their 18th day. That means get the humidity up and don't open the lid. Opening the lid can cause "sticky" chicks. Basically you don't want the humidity to dip. I stay in lockdown until 3 days after the first chicks hatch, then I open the bator quickly and remove older and fluffed chicks and I let the other eggs go until day 23, making sure no chcik stays in the incubator past 3 days from shell emergence.
