what can i feed a newly hatched chick if i dont have chicken food? is there anything that is ok for them to eat???

Are you planning to get chick food? If so, how long will it take? If not, why not?
You can offer some scrambled egg or mashed up hard boiled egg. Years ago I got by in a pinch with some corn meal mush for some hungry chicks when my husband brought home scratch instead of chick starter.

corn meal mush and eggs.. ok and what about bread or veggies or weat germ
No bread or veggies. Chicks dont have to eat anything for 2-3 days after hatching, so if you are picking up food tomorrow you dont need to offer anything until then.

ok thats good maybe ill give him a little corn meal mush until he gets real food
yogurt, scrambled eggs, oatmeal made with warm milk...my big chicks LOVE grape nuts cereal, soaked in hot milk and hot yogurt(let it cool before feeding).
