5 month old, bird raised from a few days old with other animals and a older rooster. Here's the scenario:

I walk by wearing flip-flops or bare feet, he will run to the foot closest peck and get a good hold, and sit? on the top while making funky noises.
At first I thought he was in love with them but its kinda vicious in nature and the neck fans out and he pounces. The bird is a silver lace wyndotte.

I had to push him off, not so gently, and now hes 'Terrified' of me. He will still try to get my feet, he snuck inside the house and pounced on them when I was on the computer!!!
Walked under the chair and BOOMM!! the helpless victim was his.

any ideas?

At the age of 5 months, the testosterone kicks in and all bets are off! He might just think you're the hottest chick on the planet! (No pun intended)

Or he might be attacking you, showing his dominance. When chickens mate, they do get very rough. He mighte be trying to make mad, passionate love to your feet and ankles.......

Cover those tootsies when you go outside! That's my best advice!

;)

I might try to carry him around. If you tuck him under and arm and walk around for a while. It may show him that you are dominant. I am not overly experienced, but I have read that if you have a roo that wants to be dominant you have to put him in his place.

Yes the dominance thing is a moot point, I run the show. The older Roo knows he's my ***** but lil guy, not so much. Thanks all for the input.
Got any extra feathers? I make stuff with them. Non-fuzzy feathers only please. IM me for details.

Thanks again!!!

I am having the same problem with my two 6 month old Isa Brown hen's. Since they began laying a week ago they feel it is their right to attack my feet. I have to shoo them away with a branch however, they are becoming more aggresive toward's my feet. I have not yet been pecked and don't want to be. Why are they doing this?
