How do you pronounce it?

Show me what kind of pen you keep them in.

Tell me why you raise them? Food? Sport?

Time to educate MissPrissy.

Awwwwww.... you went and did it!!!

Y'know... mine go through a progression of pens as they grow...
aquarium (draft free first week) to
1/4" wire (~1x1x3') (1-3 weeks) to
1/2" wire (same size). If I'm keeping them split into pairs, I keep them on the 1/2" wire to keep their feet/eggs clean. However, the majority of my adult birds are now kept in a 4x4' pen, linoleum floor with shavings, deep tray (2") of sand in the middle. They LOVE it.
This is my "double wide" for my Buttons... without the divider in the middle, it works for pairs of Coturnix.

I bought them for the eggs originally, but I plan on rotating the breeders. Next season I'll raise new breeders and this years will likely go into the freezer. Nothing wasted - any that are sick or culled go into a different section of the freezer for shrimp-bait...

I agree, though... Sam's the man... he has some beautiful birds...

I raise mine for meat, eggs, and something new.

I pronounce it "co-turn-icks" myself.

I keep mine in an old rabbit hutch we just got off someone.

Mine are kept for meat, eggs. My first eggs are now finally being produced. And my corty boys are busy breeding as they have formed foam bumps. I placed some eggs in the incubator and hoping things turn out to be fertile so I can sell fertile eggs and chicks. And pretty much I pronounce it the same as Kim. I have my eight golden manchurians in a rabbit hutch with a nestbox attached to it. I have some regular colored standard size corty hens that should be laying in the next few days but their mates are 2 weeks behind in age.

Goldens in their condo:
