Mothballs toxic?

If I spread mothballs around the chicken coop pen to deter pests do you think my free range chickens will try to eat them? And are they toxic to them.
 
yes, they are toxic. Spread them around the outside of the pen area. (where they can't reach)

Nevermind then I won't use them..because my two free range are true free range...Only in pen at night as their pen is mostly in the sun all day so I let them out so they can seek shade and bugs, etc... And they hang pretty close to the outside of the back of the pen midday because it's shady there...That is mostly where I was going to spread them since it is where my new coop is. Just have to think of something else I guess.
