Jungle fowls were not flightless as domesticed chickens.

These photoes are of wild jungle fowls in flight.

This adult male red jungle fowl in eslipse plumage, flying across a ditch.

No photoes available, of both Ceylon jungle fowls and Green jungle fowls in flight, I tried to find the photoes for past years, but to no avail, sorry.

If I had a quality camera and knew how to use I could provide photographs of American Games doing similar.  Mine if they could be so motivated can fly across the Missouri River which is better than 1/8 mile wide.

They sure can fly. Pure specimens are capable of maneuvering in the air like birds.
